Safety & Risk Warning
Scooters & E-Motos

READ THIS WARNING CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING OR OPERATING ANY VEHICLE

By purchasing or operating any scooter, e-moto, or other two-wheeled vehicle from Bulldog Scooters, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the inherent risks associated with its operation, and you agree to assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for those risks.

1. Inherent Dangers of Two-Wheeled Vehicles

The vehicles sold by Bulldog Scooters, including scooters and e-motos, are motor vehicles that are inherently dangerous to operate and pose a significantly higher risk of injury or death compared to enclosed passenger vehicles.

  • Lack of Protection: Riders are exposed to the elements and traffic with no external protection (like a metal cage or airbags).

  • Vulnerability: Due to their size, two-wheeled vehicles are less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of collision, particularly in traffic and at intersections.

  • Stability: Two-wheeled vehicles require continuous balance, skill, and attention. Loss of balance, uneven road surfaces, or sudden braking can result in loss of control, falls, and severe injury.

  • Speed and Impact: Accidents involving these vehicles, even at low speeds, can result in severe and life-altering injuries, including but not limited to traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury, fractures, and death.

2. Rider Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

As the operator or purchaser of a vehicle from Bulldog Scooters, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You Assume All Risk: You voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with the operation of the purchased vehicle, including the risk of severe injury, paralysis, or death.

  • Safety Gear is Mandatory: You must always wear appropriate protective riding gear, including an approved DOT-compliant helmet, eye protection, gloves, long sleeves, and durable pants and footwear. This gear provides limited protection but is essential for reducing injury severity.

  • Skill and Training: You acknowledge that safe operation requires skill, proper training, and constant vigilance. We highly recommend that all riders enroll in and complete a professional safety course (e.g., MSF Basic RiderCourse or equivalent).

  • Vehicle Condition: You are solely responsible for inspecting the vehicle before every ride to ensure it is in proper and safe operating condition, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and controls.

3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

All purchasers are solely responsible for knowing and adhering to all laws, regulations, and licensing requirements in their jurisdiction.

  • Licensing and Registration: You must possess the proper and current license or endorsement (e.g., standard driver's license, motorcycle endorsement) required to operate the purchased vehicle. You are responsible for registering and insuring the vehicle as required by state and local laws.

  • Classification: Be aware that the legal classification of an e-moto (e.g., as an e-bike, moped, or motorcycle) is state and power-dependent. Misunderstanding the classification does not exempt you from legal penalties.

  • Traffic Laws: You must obey all rules of the road, including speed limits, traffic signals, and right-of-way laws.

4. Prohibited and Unsafe Practices

The following activities significantly increase the risk of injury and are strictly prohibited:

  • Impaired Riding: Never operate the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medications.

  • Distraction: Never use a mobile phone or any other distracting device while operating the vehicle.

  • Stunt Riding: Never engage in excessive speed, stunt riding, or reckless maneuvering.

  • Passengers: Never carry passengers unless the vehicle is expressly designed and legally registered to carry a passenger.

By continuing with your purchase, you signify that you have been adequately warned of the risks of injury or death associated with operating a scooter or e-moto and agree that Bulldog Scooters is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or death resulting from the operation of the vehicle.

If you have any questions regarding the safe use of your vehicle, please consult your owner’s manual or contact a professional safety training course.
